The Essence of Tahiti
You'll feel in harmony with Tahiti at the InterContinental Resort Tahiti where no building rises above the coconut palms and where all the accommodations capture the elegance and comfort of Colonial Polynesia. We have three types of room as well as two types of thatched overwater bungalows to choose from. Les Grands Ballets de Tahiti, the island's internationally-renowned performance group, has chosen our Tiare theater restaurant for their home and you'll be able to enjoy the sensual dances and songs that have been a feature of Polynesian culture since time immemorial.

A Complete Resort With Plenty To Do
You'll relax in two of the most beautiful infinity pools in all of Polynesia and meet our colorful fish in our own Lagoonarium in the heart of the resort. The Aquatica Center is on site for diving, snorkeling and other water sports. Then there's tennis, and French bowls on the grounds plus any number of activities and excursions in Papeete and around the Island.

Nothing's higher than the coconut palms in our low rise polynesian-style resort of 263 rooms, suites and overwater bungalows.
To make you feel you're in Tahiti, all accommodations are attractively decorated in a tasteful and relaxing Colonial Polynesian theme.

• ROOMS

The rooms are offered in three categories in nine adjoining three story buildings spread out over our luxuriant grounds:

• With views over the lagoon and the ocean to neighboring Moorea:
  • 60 Panoramic Rooms, our largest rooms, at the more secluded Lotus end of the resort.
  • 92 Ocean View Rooms, smaller but spacious and cozy, close by the central core of the resort.
• With garden views:
  • 78 Garden View Rooms, same size as the Ocean View Rooms but at garden level and most with a partial view of the ocean.

BUNGALOWS

The overwater bungalows, thatched with pandanus leaves, are our most romantic choice - inspired by traditional polynesian houses called fare. They're built on stilts let into the lagoon bed and all have ocean views, private terraces and sundecks with direct access to the lagoon for swimming or snorkeling. There are two designs:

• Overwater Lagoon Bungalows, our larger Junior Suite size bungalows, built at the Lotus end of the resort over deeper (10') water. Large bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs and separate shower.
• 17 Overwater Motu Bungalows, somewhat smaller bungalows built in a semi circle around their own private little island, called a motu in Tahitian. They are in front of the Lagoonarium and main pool and buildings.

The all day dining open-air Tiare restaurant, located on the garden level, serves a lavish buffet breakfast, light lunch, as well as French Polynesian specialties for dinner.

The Tiki Bar is open from 10a.m. till midnight. Guitars & ukuleles spice up most evenings. Ask for anything from draught beer to Champagne, or your favorite cocktail.

On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, dinner shows are featured under the stars with Polynesian dances.
